A Capital source
We recently fielded an inquiry from a client who needed some assistance in receiving and processing a documentary letter of credit. We were able to solve the problem and more. So naturally, we wanted to tell you about some recent additions to our capabilities.
Until now, we have been able to arrange facilities to pay suppliers against letters of credit in a few important spots in the world, like the US, much of the UK and Europe. Subject to proper review of the language and the issuing bank for an incoming LC, we’ve expanded our capabilities to be able to serve clients in most countries in the world.
Back to Back Letters of Credit
Traders need a back to back LC in order receive a buyer’s LC and pay a supplier without divulging the identity of the buyer and supplier to each other. We can now pay supplier and transport company against an incoming LC, without requiring either a a back to back or transferable letter of credit. No muss, no fuss, no duplicate sets of documents to coordinate. And a happier buyer, who in many cases will bristle at issuing a transferable LC.
Deal Management Service (Migraine Headache Avoidance)
We suppose there are a few people in the world who would rather get into the weeds of sorting microscopic LC details, avoiding discrepancies, coordinating with suppliers and buyers to make certain all payment instruments line up. Plus trying to make certain the buyer and seller bankers are in the loop. Did we mention coordinating with the freight forwarder? One can easily count twenty different follow-up communications (waiting on hold or leaving messages if you call, waiting for a return email if you contact people that way) necessary to nailing down all the elements of a transaction.
Are you one of the masochists who derives pleasure from all of the above? Or would you rather offload the whole process and worry about negotiating deals? Wouldn’t you rather leave the execution part to a partner who can take care of that AND take over deal preparation from the start, from contract and LC review forward to ease and speed up negotiation and payment of the letters of credit? A little attention in the right spots can make the difference between getting paid in five days or getting paid in a month. As you know, there’s an opportunity cost that comes with delays.
If you run your own operation with a few colleagues or employees, you may be insulated from some but not all of the headaches. If you run everything yourself, or even if you don’t, you probably know what days full of ankle-biters are like.
We can help you outsource the entire process and give you the equivalent of your own back office with over fifty years of collective experience to make certain your deals are executed properly. It all depends on how you like to spend your time, and whether you’d like to see your kids more than once a week.
If this appeals, let us know. We’ll get you set up, and you’ll never look back. We can handle clients just about anywhere for cases where there’s a buyer’s incoming letter of credit.
We covered rather a bit of ground about what we can do in this letter. We’re pretty excited about it, and we know what it may mean for your own trade operations.
Call or email if you want to know more about how we can assist in the completion of your transaction, or in taking a considerable load off your shoulders.
