Luxury home sales from $35M in DFW to $90M in NYC; article from Dallas Business Journal

Following a sale of a Central Park West & 61st St. penthouse for $88M to a daughter of a Russian fertilizer magnate; it has been announced in 1/14 that the middle-eastern nation of Qatar has agreed to buy the Wildenstein & Co. building at 64th St. & Madison Ave. Both residences are in Manhattan.

The Wildenstein Building is owned by a family of international art dealers. The 4-story building is to be used as the Qatar Consulate and art gallery. The $90M sale is reported as the most expensive NYC townhouse ever sold. The 20-something real estate agent brothers that arranged the sale also hold the record for the most expensive home sale in Miami.

In 2/14, Robert Murdock bought a 4-story penthouse at Madison & east 23rd St. for $57M. In 1/14, TV-show host Ellen Degeneres bought a 13,500 s.f., 6-bedroom house in Los Angeles for about $40M.
